Artistic catharsis as personal growth

Music entered Davide Gullotto's life very early, born on May 22, 1975 in Cernusco sul Naviglio and shaped in the music school founded by his father Antonio. His artistic journey began almost by osmosis, surrounded by instruments and sheet music from a very young age.
At five years old he fell in love with Rossini's Overtures, at nine he composed his first pieces on the piano, and at eleven he was admitted to the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, in the viola class.
"At five years old I would get up early and put a Rossini tape in the home stereo at full volume, my mother would shout to turn it down, but I vibrated like a violin string."
During his adolescence, Davide was struck by the energy of Jimi Hendrix, the Police, Sting, and other Anglo-American rock artists. He began writing songs, playing, and singing in his first bands, nurturing the dream of becoming a rock star. Driven by a visionary and rebellious youthful impulse, he temporarily left his classical studies and landed in London, the symbolic city of international rock and home to legends and sonic revolutions.
Back in Milan, he began working in various recording studios, collaborating on numerous pop and instrumental productions, and also deepening his knowledge of the art of sound engineering. From the mid-1990s, the studio became his second home: he devoted himself completely to songwriting and music production, both for himself and for other artists and record labels.

"At 15 I listened for the first time to Don't Stand So Close To Me by the Police: that chorus kept playing in my head like an obsession, completely devouring my brain… I knew that something was changing in my life!"

With the beginning of the 2000s, Davide intensified his live activity, performing on the stages of Milan's most renowned venues, such as Indian's Saloon, Legend Club, and Le Scimmie. Between gaining experience and studio recordings, he distinguished himself as a singer-songwriter by participating in various national music festivals, while simultaneously resuming his academic path at the conservatory as a private student.
In 2011, after graduating in piano, he founded the brand DaG® (acronym for Davide Gullotto), which embodies his all-encompassing artistic vision. With over 200 published songs, today his work ranges from music education to record production, dealing with composition, arrangement, teaching, and sound engineering.
"My typical day? In the morning I studied classical piano, in the afternoon I was in the recording studio and in the evening I played rock. I was inside a magical and incredible artistic flow."

Among the most recent releases are Infinities Collection (2022), a collection of 16 piano pieces taken from the album of the same name Infinities (2019), led by the single "Nocturnal Waves" and accompanied by the publication of sheet music on the Hal Leonard publishing platforms; Silent Movies (2017), a musical reworking project of four silent films by Harold Lloyd; and the double single "Amore Sbagliato" (2016), recorded at Metropolis Studio in Milan and mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London by engineer Sean Magee.
Davide has taken part in important events and collaborations that demonstrate his versatility:

Currently, Davide continues to write and produce music across various genres, from classical to pop, from rock to jazz, from ambient to chamber music and soundtracks. He is the owner of the DaG® Studio recording studio and the independent label DaG® Music Production.
He is working on a new piano project and curating his singer-songwriter anthology, while combining music production with teaching piano, with the same passion that has always accompanied him.
A member of SIAE and nuovo IMAIE, he continues to enrich his discography, consolidating an original and transversal presence in the contemporary music scene.
The musical journey is a path of self-knowledge in constant balance between open inspiration and inner discipline, a synthesis between listening to the infinite cosmos in dialogue with human emotions. (D. Gullotto)
"It doesn't matter how many things you manage to do, but how much faith you put into everything you accomplish."
