A Life in Music

Artistic catharsis as personal growth

Biography

Davide Gullotto was born on May 22, 1975 in Cernusco sul Naviglio, a town in the Metropolitan City of Milan.
His childhood is surrounded by musical instruments thanks to his father Antonio's music school. At five he loved Rossini's Ouvertures, at nine he composed small piano pieces and at eleven he was enrolled at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of music in Milan in the viola class.

The 1990s

As a teenager he was inspired by the music and energy of Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Sting and other British and American artists, then began writing songs and playing in early bands, dreaming of becoming a rock star. Thus he suspended classical studies and fled to London to set foot in the country of rock music, riding on a visionary and rebellious dream.

A few years later he began working in various Milanese recording studios for numerous musical productions, mainly pop and instrumental, also learning the art of sound engineering. The recording studio environment was like a second home and in the late 1990s he spent his time writing and producing music, both for himself and for many independent artists and labels.

The new Millennium

With the new Millennium he started gigging round rock Milanese venues like The Indian's Saloon, LegendClub, Rockhouse, Scimmie etc. with various musicians and bands, recording his songs in studio and making his way, but at the same time he resumed classical piano studies at the Conservatory of Music.

Since 2011, graduated in piano, he began his activity with the Italian brand DaG®, acronym of Davide Gullotto, which passes from artistic training to record production, which today has more than 100 released songs, and from composition to arrangement up to audio engineering.

Among his latest releases are: 'Infinities' (2019), piano album recorded at the 'Griffa & Figli' studio with a Bösendorfer Imperial piano; 'Silent Movies' (2017), album extracted from the musical reworking of four silent films by the famous Harold Lloyd, for the new Italian Collector's Edition published by A&R Productions, and 'Amore Sbagliato' single (2016), recorded at Metropolis Studio and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Among the various collaborations he participated as a pianist in the 'Piano City' latest editions (2018-19), produced 'Dark Angel' single (2013) for the American singer Ronnie Jones, and produced background music for television commercials for RTI Music of Mediaset Group (2005-07), as a singer-songwriter he partecipated in the Girofestival on Rai 3 TV (2004) and held a series of live concert-lessons for the Lombard satellite channel 'Milanow' (2020).

At present

To date he has written, produced and performed music of various genres: classical, pop, rock, jazz, ambient, chamber music and soundtracks. He owns the DaG® Recording Studio and the independent label DaG® Music Production. Member of SIAE and NUOVO IMAIE, to date his discography is constantly expanding.

Quintessence

The musical journey is a path of self-knowledge in continuous balance between open inspiration and inner discipline, a synthesis between listening to the infinite cosmos in dialogue with human emotions.

"It doesn't matter how many things you do, but how much Faith you place in everything you accomplish."
